Centrally situated in the Greater Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area, The Wharf neighborhood is located near two Metro stations which are only a short walk or free Southwest Shuttle ride from the water. Of course, you can always ride your bike or even take the Water Taxi to get here.

CAPITAL BIKE SHARE
We do have Capital Bike Share stations right at M Street Landing.
Riding with Capital Bikeshare is an easy, affordable, and super-fun way to explore. Just hop on a classic bike or ebike—and be on your way.
WATERFRONT METRO STATION
GREEN LINE : One block to Waterfront Metro: Head southeast on Maine Avenue SW, which turns into M Street SW. After one block, the domed entrance to the Metro will be on your left, near 4th Street SW.
BUS LINES
52 14th Street Line: Takoma Metro Station to L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station, with eastbound stop at Maine Ave. SW in front of CVS, and westbound stop at 9th St. SW and Maine Ave. SW
74 Convention Center–Southwest Waterfront Line: Washington Convention Center to Fort McNair
P6 Anacostia–Eckington Line: Anacostia Metro Station to Rhode Island Ave. Metro Station
FREE NEIGHBORHOOD SHUTTLE
The Wharf offers a SW Neighborhood Shuttle that is free and open to the public. With daily service and short headways, it’s easy and convenient to take the shuttle between The Wharf and SW Duck Pond, L’Enfant Plaza Metro, the National Mall, and additional parking at L'Enfant Plaza.
The shuttle is wheelchair accessible. Like on Metro, pets may be transported on the Shuttle, provided they are carried in a secure container from which they cannot escape.
The low-emission CNG buses are sponsored by The Wharf Community Association and the Southwest Business Improvement District.
